Giza pyramids and Sphinx glow in ‘Chinese Red’

Egypt's historic sites — the Giza pyramids and the Sphinx — shine in "Chinese Red" for the first time on Feb 2, 2019, celebrating the Chinese New Year. [Photo/Chinaculture.org]

A new sound and light performance, dubbed in Chinese, was also held in the pyramid complex. The event was sponsored by the China Cultural Center in Cairo. The dubbed performance will be held daily in the future. [Photo/Chinaculture.org]

In her speech at the launch ceremony, Liu Yongfeng, minister at Chinese embassy in Cairo, said the pyramid is a bright pearl in the cultural heritage of mankind, and also a place the Chinese tourists love. She also said the launch of the Chinese dubbed sound and light show will surely attract more Chinese tourists to visit Egypt and further deepen mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.
