The ultimate mission of an art patron and collector is to support the artists he loves unconditionally, and to share his collection of art with the public.

George Wong, the chairman of The Hong Kong Parkview Group who died last year aged 65, lived up to this ideal by pushing for the development of contemporary Chinese art over the years.

Art and Mission: George Wong 1952-2017, an exhibition now on at the Parkview Museum Beijing through March 15, 2019, marks the collector's commitment to art by reviewing his life and showing a part of his collection.

The exhibition features more than 20 artists, including Chinese artists whose careers was given a boost thanks to Wong's support.

Besides, there are also artists from Italy and South Korea whose works have been shown in Beijing under Wong's sponsorship, as Wong believed in the role of art in broadening people's understanding of different cultures.
