The National Ballet of China gave a gala performance to close the two-month Opening Gate of Art Festival at the Forbidden City Concert Hall on August 31.

The program included popular par de duet Diana and Acton, solos and group dances selected from their classical repertoire such as Red Detachment of Women and Treasure in Memory.

Ballerina Liu Qi gave a short introduction before each piece.

Five audience members won tickets to next year’s opening performance of the annual festival.

The audience were also treated to a photo exhibition featuring more than 1,000 photos taken by Su Guanming during the two-month festival.

In addition to the shows, the festival also featured summer camps such as the choir camp, percussion camp, Pipa camp and the Peking Opera camp. Around 1,000 children participated in the camps.
