According to the Reply to National Art PrizesInitiation of the Information Office of CPC (the Dispatch No. 18th and the 31st in 1997 of theInformationOffice of CPC), the project of national art prizes has been decided. The name of various prizes and contents are as follows:

I. Wenhua Prize

It is the governmental prize for national professional arts.

Evaluation period: Once a year, 1-2 kinds each time. Evaluation of each kind is held once every 2-3 years.

IV. Chinese Arts and Education Prize

It is the governmental prize for art and education for teachers from national arts universities.
